Owning a Pristine BMW 750i (E38) After a Full 1-Year Restoration
Owning a perfectly restored BMW 750i (E38) is more than just having a luxury sedan—it feels like preserving a piece of automotive history. After a full year of meticulous restoration, the car stands today exactly as it should: refined, powerful, and timeless.
The project started with a clear goal: bring the flagship V12 BMW back to factory condition without shortcuts. The E38 generation has always been regarded as one of the most elegant BMW designs ever made, and restoring it meant respecting every detail that made it special when it first left the factory in the late 1990s.

The exterior restoration focused on achieving a flawless, factory-quality finish. The entire car underwent a full professional repaint, ensuring that every panel matched perfectly in color, depth, and clarity. Before the paintwork, the body was carefully corrected and prepared to eliminate imperfections and ensure proper alignment.
Trim pieces were restored or replaced where necessary, completing the transformation. Standing next to the car now, the deep, mirror-like shine of the paint reflects the countless hours invested in bringing the sedan back to its original presence.
Interior bits and overall condition
The E38's interior is truly a beautiful place to be - if in good condition. Fortunately, this particular car's interior was already very well preserved, thanks to having only one previous owner who clearly took great care of it.
Rather than needing major restoration, the interior received a thorough professional detailing. The leather was carefully cleaned and treated to restore its softness and natural finish, while the rest of the cabin was meticulously detailed.
A cool (and rare) detail of this particular interior is the blue piping all across the seats.

Full Professional Respray
One of the most significant parts of the restoration was the complete professional respray, a process that required extensive preparation and attention to detail to achieve a factory-quality finish.
Rather than simply repainting over the existing surface, the car underwent a careful and methodical preparation phase. Trim pieces, lights, seals, badges, and exterior fittings were removed so the body could be properly worked on without leaving visible masking lines. The entire body was then thoroughly inspected, corrected where necessary, and prepared to ensure a perfectly smooth base for the new paint.
The result is a finish that not only restores the car's original presence but elevates it to a level that often surpasses what was achieved at the factory. Standing next to the car today, the reflections across the long hood and smooth body panels reveal just how much precision and craftsmanship went into the respray, giving the sedan the dignified and immaculate appearance it deserves.
DSP Audio System overhaul
Focus on originality was big on this one - truly a "purist" project.
Even when these cars were new, the DSP setup was considered more of a technological feature than a truly outstanding hi-fi system. Still, it is an important part of the car's original specification and contributes to the authentic late-1990s luxury experience.

The completion of this project marks the end of a long but incredibly rewarding journey. Over the course of a year, every aspect of the car was approached with patience, care, and respect for what the BMW 750i (E38) represents.
